Siddipet: As promised by the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, Finance Minister T Harish Rao has distributed Rs 2 lakh cheques each to 209 villagers of Chintamadaka, the birthplace of the Chief Minister, neighboring Machapur and Sitarampally on Wednesday to help them either build a cattle shed or a poultry farm.
During a programme organised at MPDO office in Siddipet on Wednesday, the Minister has asked the beneficiaries to complete the construction of sheds within a fortnight so that the Animal Husbandry department will distribute the cattle or poultry chicks to them at the earliest possible time.
During a visit to his native village last July, the Chief Minister had promised to help the villagers to improve their livelihoods by sanctioning Rs 10 lakh worth to each and every eligible family in Chintamadaka, Sitarampally and Machapur village. As part of that promise, Rao has distributed the cheques to beneficiaries today. While 63 of them have decided to choose to run a dairy farm to earn the livelihood, the rest 176 have opted to run a poultry farm. The beneficiaries have thanked the Chief Minister for helping them. They have vowed to live up to his expectations.
