'Moore’s law may well and truly be dead as we see more and more semiconductor companies ditching the traditional monolithic chip design in favor of a modular approach.This is becoming vital for chipmakers in order to improve the power efficiency of their designs.Intel has been stuck on 14nm since forever and while TSMC has fared much better, there’s no denying that shrinking transistors is getting harder by the day.Using such new design methods, chipmakers are hoping to reduce the intra-chip power draw to 1 picoJoule/bit or less.As such, the bi-directional peak power for 1TB/s transfer will be less than 17watts. ( MCM = Multi Chip Module) At the 2019 VLSI Symposium, earlier this month, NVIDIA shared technical details about their new intra-chip transmission technology called Ground-Referenced Signaling (GRS) which they have implemented on their 2018 Research Chip or “RC18”. This should allow low power data transfer among the 4 dies viz.North, South, West, and East, on the same RC18 package.NVIDIA estimates that a 16-bit wide interface on their 16nm RC18 will land them at their targeted 1pJ/bit energy consumption.For comparison, AMD’s 14nm Infinity Fabric with a 32-bit wide interface consumes twice the energy at 2pJ/bit.If these claims turn out to be accurate then AMD might have a very hard time competing as their recently launched 7nm Navi GPUs already consume more power than similarly performing 12nm Turing cards.Inter-connecting 4 GPU dies to form a single package using GRS.Inter-connecting 4 such packages also using GRS.This is a very brief overview of Nvidia’s MCM approach.If you are curious to know more, please refer to this article . 'The custom Radeon RX 5700s are on their way!After MSI teased its RX 5700 Mech series, it’s now Asrock’s turn to take a spin at AIB Navi hardware with the ASRock Challenger RX 5700 and 5700 XT.One of the biggest problems with the Navi parts was the terrible reference design.We’ve seen the blower-style GPU cooler before in reference AMD models–from Polaris to Vega–and it’s performed terribly every time.The same goes for reference Navi parts: our 5700 and 5700XT review units ran hot with the fans ramped up and this played a crucial role in limiting these parts’ OC potential.ASRock’s Challenger series appears set to rectify the flaws of the reference design.These parts will feature a dual-fan design with 10cm blades and a 4-pipe copper heatsink for maximum heat dissipation.The cards feature an aluminum backplate for that extra dose of refinement.Asrock is keeping things conservative when it comes to clock speeds.The RX 5700XT Challenger has a 1795 MHz Game Clock out of the box–this is just 40 MHz higher than the reference model but keeping in mind the trouble reviewers have had with overclocking Navi, we’re quite excited to see a factory OC’d product–it’ll hopefully be less temperamental.ASRock has gone easy on the memory–in fact, they haven’t touched it and the GDDR6 modules run at the stock 15 Gbps.The RX 5700 (non-XT) Challenger cranks the Game clock up a bit further–we’re looking at a 50 MHz bump to 1675 Mhz.Otherwise, it’s much the same as it’s higher-end stablemate.This is essentially a soft launch of the Navi board partner cards and while we haven’t seen retail units of the Challenger series pop up yet, we most certainly will in the days to come.Watch this space!Read more: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Duke Now Available for a Discount of $160 Wary of 64 Core AMD Rome, Intel Silently Launches 28 Core Cascade Lake-SP, Xeon… . Device Renders Reveal Samsung Note 10’s Design – FCC Pictures Confirm Speculation

After tasting immense success with the Galaxy S10 and S10+, it looks like Samsung is back for an encore!The Galaxy Note 10 variants have been leaked in entirety, a significant period of time before launch.
'After tasting immense success with the Galaxy S10 and S10+, it looks like Samsung is back for an encore!The Galaxy Note 10 variants have been leaked in entirety, a significant period of time before launch.Leaked images Leaked images Leaked images Images leaked by Roland Quandt at WinFuture and MySmartPrice contributor Ishan Agarwal , together with FCC specifications, confirm the legitimacy of these leaked images.According to these images, we can, without a doubt, confirm that the Galaxy Note 10 will wield a hole-punch cut-out for the front-facing camera, smack dab in the center and right below the ear-piece.The absence of a fingerprint scanner most probably means that Samsung will be carrying over their ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanner from the S10.FCC Speifications FCC Specifications FCC Specifications Being very Huawei-esque in their approach, Samsung seems to have finally jumped ship to the gradient-back camp (hallelujah!). On the right side, we observe an absence of any buttons, whereas when you take your gaze towards the left you’ll find the usual set of volume controls and an extra button.Either Samsung has decided to do away with the power button or ( crosses fingers ) we’re finally getting a Galaxy flagship without a Bixby button!If this does pan out in our favor, it confirms just one thing – Samsung is finally laying down its sword with Bixby and we couldn’t be happier.Is the Bixby button an ancient artifact now?Here’s another minor detail that’s quite polarizing- Samsung is ditching their horizontal camera cut-out for a more conventional vertical layout.I personally feel this will result in the Note 10 losing some of its character, especially because the vertical layout is also seen on Samsung’s A-series of phones.Add to that the fact they’re using gradient backs this time around, we fear people will mistake it for…well… a Huawei handset.Vertical camera layout.Apparently, we’re also losing the headphone jack.The mightiest survivor among them all, we hope you rest in peace.If Samsung has finally decided to forego the jack with the Note 10, it means without a doubt that next year’s Galaxy S11 will miss out on it too.Why Samsung, just why?Oh well :/ That’s all we have for you folks today!As and when leaks surface you can count on Techquila keeping you updated.Stay tuned!If you found this story interesting, follow us on  Facebook  and  Instagram .
